A member asked:

Hi, does atorvastatin cause parathysis in head and body, does it really affect on nerves , i am using it with tsh=5.5 and t3 (liothyronine) , t4 and tpo normal, ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No parathysis!: I don't know what parathysis is! however, if you meant paralysis, then no worries. Atorvastatin does not adversely affect nerve function. What concerns me more, as a thyroid specialist, is that your TSH is elevated. I recommend you have it retested and discuss it with an endocrinologist, as you may benefit from thyroid hormone treatment (or increase in dose if already taking it.
