Depends: Hemorrhoids can be treated in many different ways of which many are effective. Add soluble fiber and more water to your diet. Hemorrhoids that are painful can be shrunk with several over the counter agents such as witch hazel (best when cold), or lanced if they are clotted. If they are not painful and "pop-out, " then they can be ligated, surgically removed, or injected with scarring agents.
