Heart rhythm danger: Most fruits and juices are relatively high in potassium. So are many salt substitutes. If you have kidney disease (probably the most common cause of high potassium level) it may be smart to see a nephrologist. Your doctor can help you determine whether any medicines you're taking may aggravate the problem. Your potassium level should be followed closely until normal again.
