Does it tell anything of an ankle ganglion cyst if not much fluid was aspirated from it? i thought it should contain a lot more fluid.

No: The volume aspirated may not be a goood predictor of anything. Sometimes the needle may become clogged during the aspiration procedure.

Can vary: The amount of fluid would be dependent on the size and depth of the cyst.
