TMJ/Muscle Problems: With a tmj/muscle dysfunction, laying down will allow the jaw to drop back a put a lot of pressure against the major nerves and blood vessel going to the brain. This causes a lot of headache pain. With a retruded jaw, even while standing, you are having constant pressure against these areas. Find a dentist that is very familiar with treating TMJ and orthopedic appliances.
