A member asked:

How bad does my sinus infection have to be before i can have surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lifestyle: Indications for surgery: 1) chronic infection (>3 months not responding to maximal medical therapy); 2) recurrent sinusitis (3-4 infections per year - not responding to medical therapy. Surgey may also be indicated if you are having complications related to a sinus infection. 1&2 are relative indications... If two or three infections really wipe you out... Surgery may be indicated as well.
