Get your eye dilated: Floaters can be a sign of serious eye problems, including retinal detachment. Go see your eye doctor, and have your eye dilated. Floaters may take weeks or months to disappear. There are a few surgeons who will do floater removal surgery if the floaters are constant and don't go away on their own.

Floaters: New floaters are not typical after lasik. You should tell your surgeon so he/she can dilate your eye to ensure that there is no retinal tear. This is especially important if you were very nearsighted before lasik.
