Infection or more: Depends on how long. Age, etc. Could be irritable bowel syndrome but can also be acute viral, bacterial, or parasitic infection; could be chronic versions of above; could be inflammation as in Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac sprue, other stuff including cancers. See your doc, get checked out.
