Depends on eating: One has to eat a lot less after stopping breastfeeding. Breast milk is about 20 calories per ounce (not even counting the calories needed to produce the milk). So, if a baby was drinking 24 ounces of breast milk a day, the mom would have to cut her intake by at least 480 calories a day (20 calories x 24 ounces = 480 calories).
