Avoid while pregnant: You probably should avoid using hydroquinone while pregnant. It is a category c drug which is known to cause side effects in animals. But the side-effects are not completely known in humans so better not to take a risk. Hydroquinone should only be used under the proper supervision of a doctor or dermatologist who can properly advise you about the proper usage, length of use, possible side-effects.
