Usually: If your septum is deviated, especially if you also have turbinate enlargement or allergies, it is important to improve the airflow through your airways (equally on sides). Reconstruction is very imporant, and may help with problems like nasal bleeding, sinus infections, etc. Be certain to have dr. Examine the sinus cavities and the drainage openings (may need attention at time of surgery).

See E N T doctor: First you should be examined by a board certified ear nose and throat doctor. The doctor may treat medically if indicated. The doctor will tell you if you need to undergo surgery.

Septoplasty: You may have other anatomical issues contributing to the nasal obstruction. The only treatment for a deviated septum is surgery. Have your nose evaluated by a board certified otolaryngologist.
