Complications: Trabeculectomy is surgery to treat glaucoma by slowly releasing the pressure from inside the eye. It is my understanding that potential problems include too low eye pressure, discomfort at the site of the bleb (area of the trabulectomy, usually under the upper eyelid), infection, and cataract. Your eye surgeon can explain the relative risks of each.
