Primary or 2nd: Precautions? Primary precautions to avoid it or secondary after you have it? Cervical cancer is much less common due to pap smears and early detection as well as hpv testing. Hpv vaccines may greatly reduce or eliminate it in a few to several decades depending on vaccine use.

4 main things: 1) hpv vaccination (gardasil or cervarix) if you are a candidate. 2) practice safe sex with condoms. 3) don't smoke. 4) get screened with pap smears.
