Don't always work: Nerve blocks help with various pains. They can help diagnose certain pain syndromes as well. Unfortunately, they do not always work. Be careful not to have too many injections if there is steroid injected with them as the steroid can rarely cause hip osteonecrosis (bone death), osteoporosis (bone weakening) and/ or other side effects.

Depends: It is difficult to answer your question with out having more information. What sort of injects did you receive and for what. They might have been "trigger point", epidural, bursa or some sort of nerve block injections. Some times multiple injections are required, sometimes injections don't work and other injections are required or surgery maybe required. I would speak further with your doctor.
