Yes: Obviously you have this situation examined and diagnosed. The stone should be removed. Failing to do so will result in the stone getting bigger and make it more difficult to remove.

Yes it can & should: Stones in the salivary glands block the flow of saliva from the gland. This blockage can result in swelling, discomfort and infection. Salivary stones should be removed by an oral surgeon at your earliest convenience.
