I wouldn't: You are young and i would recommend seeing a liver specialist to determine if you have a chronic hepatitis b state that is "active" or "inactive" to determine your future course and if you need to be treated with antivirals medications which have become extremely effective in suppressing hepatitis b or if you just need to have lab tests occasionally! i would not recommend homeopathic medication.

Recommend Against: Many homeopathic medications can be harmful to the liver. They are just more chemicals that the liver has to process (yes, homeopathic medications are chemicals). If cirrhosis is present, this can be even worse. Milk thistle is likely to be safe, but there is no clear data that this is beneficial. Many of my patients feel better taking it, however.

Adverse effects...: ...Of silymarin include: nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia, headache, joint aches, skin lesions, impotence, anaphylaxis. Also, milk thistle interacts with traditional prescriptions such as quinine, lidocaine, some calcium channel blockers, cyclosporine. Ref: levy, et al. Use of herbal supplements for chronic liver disease." clin gastroenterol hepatol 2004;2:947-56. Hope this makes the point to avoid!
