A member asked:

If you kiss (make out) someone who has hsv-2 but doesn't have hsv-1, is there any possibility of contracting the virus or become a carrier?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, and...: Yes, a person can catch hsv-2 from somebody who has hsv-2. Also, hsv-1 is usually oral and is very common, which means some people have it and don't know they have it.
