See a counselor: You can call the abuse hotline to let them know, so if it happens again you'll have a record. Also, insist he go with you to a marriage counselor. If he refuses, strongly consider whether you need to stay with him. This is not something to be taken lightly. A marriage counselor can help fix both of you so you have a better stronger happier marriage. You don't deserve to be hit!

Serious problem: No one has the right to hit another especially your husband. This is called domestic abuse and causes damage to self esteem and trust. Who can you trust if not your husband. Forgive him yes, but this does not mean accept his bad behavior or necessarily stay with him. This behavior is very difficult to change. His remorse will not last and this behavior will happen again, .
