Reinforcement: In applied behavioral analysis it is the arranging of contingencies in order to produce a specified behavior. As a treatment for mental disorders or substance abuse, behaviors are rewarded (or sometimes punished). If a reward (or + reinforcer) is given, it is in response to (or contingent upon) a desirable target behavior.
