Smoking Residue: As a heavy smoker, you leave residue of the smoke in your clothing, on your skin, on your furniture, and all around the house. Many people who do not smoke can smell this residue, which means some of it gets in the air, and down into their lungs. This is called passive ingestion, and can hurt your wife and child. Don't be selfish, love them enough to quit.

It could: If you are smoking in the home, your wife will be getting second hand smoke. If you smoke outside and away from your wife, the amount of nicotine and tars from just the smell of tobacco on your clothes is pretty minimal. You should strongly consider smoking cessation, since children are even more susceptible to second hand smoke effects, as well as your smoking leading to their ultimate smoking.
