Do i need to be refered to an endocrinology? i have hypothyroidism and i'd feel more comfortable if i went to someone that specializes in that field.

Your choice: An internal medicine doctor or family medicine doctor could easily treat your low thyroid, but if you feel more comfortable with an endocrinologist you can see one if nothing else than for piece of mind.

Not necessarily : Most cases of hypothyroidism can be managed by a primary care physician.

Depends on your Plan: It depends on your Insurance Plan,Some insurance plans like HMOs and some other require a referral from your Primary Care Doctor. And others like PPOs allow you to self refer to a participating Endocrinologist.Although most cases of Hypothyroidism can be managed by your Primary care doctor. But if you feel more comfortable to see a Endocrinologist then you can.Can be treated by either of them
