A member asked:

My 9 yr old daughter was bitten by a wasp on her hand yesterday. today around noon she started feeling numb in her arm up to neck. is this serious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See doctor: The wasp bite caused edema or swelling due to the inflammation caused by the chemicals released into the tissue. This swelling is causing compression on the nerves leading from her hand up to her arm and neck. This will go down and resolve with time. If the swelling and symptoms continue to worsen, see a doctor right away for treatments to bring down the swelling and inflammation.
