Risk / benefit ???: There is an association with ocp and htn, but don't hold your breath. Your BP may or may not come down enough to stop your meds. Use some other form of birth control if you do not want to become pregnant. Your goal BP is to be on average less than 140/90.

Other options: Obgyn should discuss other options as Progesterone only long term contraception depending if you plan pregnancy soon. Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud or Nexplanon or depoprovera. Vasectomy for your partner, tubal ligation or office essure are good options if no further pregnancy is desired.
