It's possible: Although the symptoms you describe are consistent with adhd, there are many other conditions that can cause difficulty with focus and concentration. A few examples include thyroid dysfunction, depression, or an anxiety disorder. You will need to see a psychiatrist, a primary care doctor familiar with adhd, or a mental health professional to help discover the real reasons. Best of luck!

Diagnosis Not Simple: Diagnosing adhd requires assessing symptoms & their history and ruling out other medical & psychological conditions. U see adhd behavioral symptoms overlap widely w/those of other conditions -e.g., anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, etc. Also, someone may be diagnosed wadhd & other disorder(s). See psychiatrist or clinical psychologist 4 good assessment. We spend yrs training 4 this.

Diagnosis by others: Aside from psychiatrists, you can consult a neurologist and have testing done by a psychologist or neuropsychologist to determine what you strengths and weakness may be. In many cases people with adhd have other causes of inattention such as anxiety.
