Forgetfulnes: First a neuro pschological test wil identify deficits if any. Make sure the MRI included careful scanning of the pituitary gland to rule out pituary adenoma. There is now a pet scan test to diagnose or evaluate dementia certain migraine headaches can cause have to rule out subclinical temporal lobe dysfunction.

Consider these:: Many meds do cause memory loss (topirimate, beta-blockers), sleep disorders (sleep apnea, insomnia), chronic carbon monoxide exposure (heating systems, car exhaust), metabolic disorders (thyroid, calcium, vitamin deficiencies), psychological (depression, bipolar), unusual dementias (diffuse lewy body, fronto-temporal). Maybe sleep study, neuropsych testing, series of blood studies?
