Have thryoid eye disease. eye surgeon said eyes will get worse until a point is reached where won't get worse but also won't get better, stable. true?

Thyroid eye disease: There is a clinical pearl that thyroid eye disease will progress to a certain level and the slowly improve. Generally, (depending on the severity of your eye diseae), the eyes will slowly get less swollen and pushed forward but will not go back to your original appearance (see figure).

Simplistic answer: But probably true. May get worse to a point and then burn itself out and stabilize. Severe cases may require treatment such as oral steroids, immune modulating drugs or radiation treatment. Most cases require no treatment just careful monitoring.
