I have a red smooth patch on my tongue that won't go away and a white skin tag that keeps growing back? is this tongue cancer

Red Patch tongue: You may have "geographic tongue." read===>http://voices.Yahoo.Com/what-causes-red-patches-tongue-3262453.Html. Without further details, it is hard to provide a cogent differential diagnosis. The "skin tag" is probably harmless and you should consult an oral surgeon to have it removed. The geographic tongue is harmless; we don't know exactly what causes it. It is common in "allergic" families.

Most likely not: It most likely is not cancer, but see a dentist to have it properly diagnosed and treated.

Please seek an eval: A red patch or skin tag on the tongue could be inidcative of many different underlying diagnoses. Some are benign like geographic tongue or median rhomboid glossitis and others can be dysplastic. Please seek an evaluation with your general dentist or an oral surgeon to rule out pathology.

See your doc: It would be rare for a 24 year old to develop tongue cancer, but you should bring this to the attention of your friendly dentist or primary care doctor.
