Chronic leg pain: If the leg pain existed before surgery, either the cause was not vascular or else the surgery was done too late and damage was permanent. If the pain occurred after surgery, injury to a nerve may result in permanent pain.Followup with the treating surgeon is important.

Vascular Surgery : Chronic pain after vascular surgery can be of multiple possible causes, including nerve damage, failure of the procedure to restore adequate blood flow, or a non-vascular condition causing the pain. Neuropathy that does not resolved can be a problem if the poor circulation permanently damaged her nerves. Consider some vascular tests by her surgeon to make sure the surgery did not fail or clot off.
