A member asked:

I recently lost lots of muscle mass in my legs, hamstring and quads specifically. now i feel like i can barely stand. is that normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: It is unusual to lose muscle mass without a medical reason. A change in levels of physical activity may play a role but these symptoms should be formally evaluated by a physician as it may be a sign of nerve or muscle disease.
