Yes.: Cold sores are viral infections. Especially the first time you get the infection, there can be a lot of lymph node swelling, pain and even fever. Recurrences of cold sores will often happen when you are stressed, such as with another viral infection. Lymph nodes in the neck will swell from both cold sores on the lip or colds.
