Usually not: Most of the time patients have very little discomfort after surgery. Sometimes there is occasional sensation like an eyelash in the eye.

Painless: Cataract surgery is painless for most patients. Some people my have a mild foreign body sensation like an eyelash in the eye for the first few hours after surgery.
