I've heard it all: People have tried everything - vinegar, dilute bleach, listerine, otc antifungal solutions. These are all antiseptics, but this problem is very difficult. Nail needs to be thoroughly cut/filed back and thinned. Get a good antifungal solution. Treat shoes with lysol. Be consistent and keep the nail filed smooth as it grows out. Dry feet well always. Can take 6 months. Treat skin if athlete's foot.

Many things: There are many treatments ranging from natural ingredients, to over the counter medications to meds by mouth to laser, to surgical nail removal.

Several treatments.: The reason you hear so many different treatments for toenail fungus is because there is no perfect, sure-fire treatment that works 100% of the time. I've seen vaporub work, as well as other natural oil remedies, but rarely. You can also try laser therapy, antifungal creams, paints, or even oral medications if your doctor deems you healthy enough to take them.
