.: Synthroid and levothyroxine are basically the same thing. The only thing different is that synthroid is the brand name and levothyroxine is the generic/ chemical name. It is important to stay consistent to the same one that you always use, because sometimes with these particular medications, there are variations in the way the different generics and brand name medications react.
