No expert here!: As a family doctor, I have noticed how many new medications are out there for treating arthritic conditions. Sounds like it may be time for a good sit-down discussion with your doctor about how to maximize your overall quality of life - with minimal side effects from meds. Perhaps a different medication will help. Seek a second opinion if you aren't being heard. This is far too important. Lgromko.

MTX dose too low.: Methotrexate 10 mg weekly is a small dose. In my practice i will usually go to 20 mg weekly before moving on. If you fail methotrexate, tnf agaents such as Enbrel (etanercept) or Humira would be the next step. These agents almost always work beautifully.
