Carry or Conceive? : Essure procedure is effective in preventing pregnancy with successful blockage of the fallopian tubes in most women by 6 months after placement. At 5 years over 99% are still blocked. If you wish to carry a child essure procedure can be reversed or u can try in vitro fertilization. Both have advantages/limitations/success rates which are best discussed with a reproductive specialist or your ob/gy.

Essure and pregnancy: It is still possible to get pregnant with essure. The effectiveness is at 99.83% in preventing pregnancy. That means there are 1.7 pregnancies per 1000 women. That's low... But still possible. Reasons for that are likely due to incorrect placement of the device. Hope this helps!
