Twin survival: It is possible for one twin to be aborted(miscarried) and the other survive, but usually the deceased twin stays in utero at an early embryonic stage. And is "resorbed." a serial(more than one ) beta HCG titer and ultrasound are done in these and similar circumstances to confirm an empty uterus.
