Diabetes: With type 1 or Insulin dependant diabetes; your Insulin producing cells stop working. You must take Insulin to stay alive. Type 2 or non Insulin dependant diabetes; you may be able to control it with very strict diet and exercise. Avoid high fructose corn syrup and fructose sugar except for the fructose in natural fruits. Maintain a healthy weight as well.

You don't: At the present time some research into transplanting pancreatic islet cells shows promise in solving the Type 1 diabetes issue. However, for the foreseeable future they must learn to "manage" their disease. There is no pill or operation.
