Does everyone have morning sickness when pregnant?

Potentially: Not necessarily; but it is very common in the first trimester of pregnancy. Every pregancy is different; some patients do not experience this at all; some experience this in the early 2nd trimester. Check with your ob/gyn for more "you" information.

No: Morning sickness varies from mother to mother. Also, many women notice a difference in morning sickness from one pregnancy to the next. It can vary in severity from none to very severe (requiring medical intervention.) it can occur any time of day. Although usually worse in the first trimester, it can occur at any stage. Avoiding strong odors can help. Ginger flavors help some.

Not everyone: Morning sickness is the reaction your body has to Hcg (pregnancy hormone). Some ppl get the same reaction to TSH if they're hyperthyroid. You can start getting nauseous at 4 wks, w/ peak symptoms at 6wks, usually stopping by mid-2nd trimester. Natural remedies are ginger (tea/candy), vit B6. Rx: Metoclopramide/Reglan, hydroxyzine, benadryl, phenergan, (promethazine) and zofran are all good methods to try.
