Self-reflection: You would first need to understand why you're expressing these characteristics, and deal with the cause. Some people might be very fearful of losing valued others, for instance. Usually these fears relate to personal insecurities, and can be best explored & dealt with in talk therapy. Awareness can lead to calming and relief. There are also anxiety disorders needing more extensive treatment.
