Manage varicose vein: Varicose veins are caused by venous hypertension. When vein pressure rises (normal is negative 5), the secondary veins dilate into varicosities. The primary problem of venous hypertension is damaged delicate valves inside the veins. Varicosities can be treated with compression and interventions. It is a progressive chronic condition.

No medicine really : Dr. Berg is right about venous hypertnension and valves. There are herbal medicines that are available in much of the rest of the world that can help swelling, but there are no effective formulations of these products that are available in the us. Many products here claim to be effective but these claims can't be prfoven. Consider wearing compression stockings and seeing a vein specialist.
