Depends: This depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you wish to "resolve" the veins or keep them from worsening, no medication will be effective. The best treatment to fix varicose vein disease is interventional therapy. For symptom relief of swelling & inflammation, horse chesnut extract & ibuprofen are common therapies. Compression stockings can also be very helpful. See vascular surgeon.

Medicine: There are no "real" oral medication based treatments that you can buy for this condition. There are medicines that your doctor may use to inject directly into the vein but none that can be taken by mouth. Compression stockings are also used as a non-surgical option

None that works.: Varicose veins are due to leaking valves in the saphenous vein system. There is a strong hereditary component. There are many potential home remedies such as horse chestnut, diosmin, escin and certain kinds of berries but none of these work. If you have varicose veins, then you should see a vein specialist for a f/u venous evaluation including a venous ultrasound.
