Cause uncertain: The stomach is in the upper abdomen. Causes of upper abdominal pain can include but are not limited to: gallstones, hepatitis, pancreatitis, peptic ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease, inflammation of the bile duct or gallbladder, obstructed intestines, and problems of the chest such as angina, heart attack, pericarditis, pneumonia and pleurisy. For severe abdominal pain seek urgent med eval.
