Maybe: Depending on the medication that was injected (usually a type of steroid) and the exact problem, it is typical to wait 2 weeks before re-examining you, assessing your pain, and performing another epidural injection. If you symptoms are all gone, you may not need another injection. That is something that you and your doctor should decide at the next office visit.

Maybe: In general epidural steroid injections are given in multiples of three. They maybe spaced out from anywhere over a month or two months. If the first one only gives partial relief or no relief a second one will be attempted. If no relief is found then that is it. If a little more relief is obtained one more will be attempted. Either way the pain relief may take a few days to a week to show.

No: If the first epidural injection completely eliminates your pain, you do not need a second injection. If you still have pain after the first injection, you have the option to undergo another injection to see if you can gain better pain relief.
