High fiber: A high fiber diet is generally helpful since the bulk in the diet helps to decrease the cramping. Also look for food that are not too high in serotonin, since serotonin in the gut is a contributing factor. Foods high in serotonin may initially be high in tryptophan like turkey, milk. They get converted from tryptophan to serotonin in the body.
