Seek help: Get checked out by a doctor or nurse that can listen to your chest or maybe do tests to see if these is reason (pneumonia, blocked bronchial tube, bronchitis). For symptomatic relief go to pharmacy and speak with pharmacist so that she can help you chose the right product to either decrease phlegm or thin out the secretions.

Bronchitis : There are 2 types of bronchitis:acute and chronic. Acute bronchitis is usually due to either a bacterial or viral etiology. The cough is associated w/uri symptoms and fever. Chronic bronchitis is a form of COPD and is not associated w/fever or URI symptoms. It is usually due to smoking and treatment includes smoking cessation and inhalers. The cough of chronic bronchitis lasts 3 weeks or more.
