Heavy menstrual blee: Heavy bleeding with menses can be caused by several things. There is probably little you can do on your own to make a big difference. Birth control pills, the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud, or prescription Lysteda are medical options. An outpatient endometrial ablation is a good option for many women. An ultrasound can determine of uterine fibroids are present as well.
