No.: Lyme disease is best treated with doxycyline hyclate in all psaes of the disease (stage 1, 2, and 3). Azythromycin is an alternative, but is not the one chosen by the cdc as the drug of first choice!

Complicated: Treating lyme and bartonella can be tricky and so would really recommend getting an opinion from a university based hospital that has a lyme center or someone that has special interest in this.
