Probably not: Try bht (butylated hydroxytoluene) available in a health food store. 2, 000 mg per day (spread throughout the day in divided doses) will resolve the lesions in several days. If you have recurrent attacks, you may need daily suppressive doses of bht--usually about 500 mg per day should be enough. Bht is a food preservative antioxidant that is very effective against herpes.
