A member asked:

My fingers swell after a brisk walk of 4 miles is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Xecondary effect: Brisk walking for a distance of 4 miles, especially if your arms are swinging freely, can result in blood pooling in your hands/fingers. At your age, return of the blood against gravity may also be somwhat slowed, which mat also cause some swelling there. Lying with your arma slightly elevated mey help the blood drain more efficiently. Unless your hands/fingers hurt or the swelling does not subsid.
