See your surgeon: You will be fine. Some physical therapy of the jaw muscles and some guiding rubber bands will help you tremendously. See your doctor on how to perform these exercises and also to check if you are healing well.

Give it time and PT: You say recent surgery. Usually your jaws are in fixation with rubber bands or even wires for a time to allow for bony healing. It will take some time of exercising your jaw movements (physical therapy) to regain full range of motion. Usually, there is nothing to worry about, and temporary limitation is just that: temporary. Good luck!
